Nurses have an attitude problem. They are catty, cliquey, think they know-it-all, don't care at all what you think (what they say is always right and final), dislike outsiders, newcomers and change, and most of all, rude. I cannot get along with any of them, which is different from other professions. Before you say "then why don't you choose a different career if you don't like it" in typical nursing rudeness/we are the best, the attitude is not appealing.

Now that you've gotten that off your chest, what can we do for you?

Not all nurses are like that. In fact, I think that segment of the profession is the minority.

Good news for you! Since you are not even in nursing school yet, you still have time to decide not to become a terrible person. Those of us who have already succumbed to the inevitable are simply doomed. Good luck to you.
In other news, people generally tend to find what they reflect... so if that is what you encounter... Time to look inward.
Have a great day!

Profile says this is a Pre-Nursing Student. Can't say I can see much happiness in his/her future just now
Sunrise....what did you want in the way of responses when you came to a message board SPECIFICALLY for nurses .....and you are instantly being insulting and rude and stereotyping an entire population within the profession? Did you think it would go over well? Did you think you would be appreciated? That there would be piles of agreement?

I think that attitude and how people act is personality but it has nothing to do with what job they hold. I am sure you can find ride and catty people in manufacturing, lawyers, store managers, dentist. Extra extra extra
I think her bridge is no longer safe to sleep under. This, too, shall pass.

You can't get along with any of them? Hmm, what's that old saying... if everyone you meet during the day is an, um... meanieface, you might be the meanieface?

Making generalized inflammatory statements about a whole group of people says more about your "attitude" than it does about theirs.
