Nurses have an Attitude Problem

Nurses have an attitude problem. They are catty, cliquey, think they know-it-all, don't care at all what you think (what they say is always right and final), dislike outsiders, newcomers and change, and most of all, rude. I cannot get along with any of them, which is different from other professions. Before you say "then why don't you choose a different career if you don't like it" in typical nursing rudeness/we are the best, the attitude is not appealing.

Holy batman, Ms. Crankypants! Somebody did something to your cornflakes this morning.

Dang...I wasted my time on someone who isn't even a nurse.

Enough of a response for me.

Now here's something fun.

What was the Skipper on Gilligan's Island character name?

SunriseDay, it sounds like you are having a hard time right now. I think you are aware that it is not beneficial to lash out at an entire population of people, particularly a population you are working so hard to be a part of. Perhaps you would feel better if you describe what is going on. Perhaps we can offer some advice?

Such a grim post from someone who goes by SunriseDay

You came on a message board where the majority of posters are nurses to tell them how horrible they are?

Right......

Wow...I have now seen it all.

I thought this was a troll thread until I saw his/her other post.

This is just more of the same. The thread should be titled, SunriseDay & the Continued "Cry for Help"...PART DEUX!

How is it that you can't get along with any nurse -- have we met? LOL

For all your college learnin', you still don't know how to not generalize. What a waste.

How do you know that others in different professions are so different, anyhow? Like, where else have you actually worked because you come across like a twenty-something first-time college student.

How do you know what it's like to be among nurses when you're not even a nurse?

I'd tell you to choose a different career, too. Your attitude just sucks a--. No nurse needs to work alongside that mess. The job's stressful enough.

It's not the fault of all nurses (everywhere) that you're 'stuck' in a nursing major with 3 years of pre-reqs and too few options.

Get out of here with that. Go work your frustrations out in a gym. 'Run it off' ... or something.

Mavrick,

Happy now? You made me google! :-)

Gosh aren't you and I too young for that show?

I think that my family and some of my sweet clients would beg to differ with you, but hey what do we know. You are the one who obviously know the mysteries of the world and the answer to some of life's most burning questions

If you are a nursing student, it might help to keep a few things in mind-

1. You are the outsider, these nurses work together day in and day out, they know one another, possibly socialize, and most of all, they rely on one another in critical patient situations. Nurses tend to be, on the floor anyway, very direct (not all, but many) and I can say how this might be taken for rudeness. Catty and cliquey? Sometimes, maybe, maybe not. Do they know -it-all? Lord, I HOPE so, patient's lives are in their hands.

But of course! I've only seen the syndicated re-runs.
