Interested in finding out about nurses aide courses in the boston or metrowest area. I'll be attending school for BSN in Jan, and would love to work part-time in a nursing home or hospital. Any advice on where to take the classes?? The only info I've found is Red Cross, and the timing isn't too great for me - weekends would ultimately be best. I'd also welcome any recommendations of a job that will get my foot in the door.

Actually, most facilities will take you as an aide if you have had one or more clinicals and are in nursing school-without having to take the classes and be certified. This is what I did. Good Luck!

A ton of nursing homes will actually hire you and train you for the CNA license, I don't know exactly what the catch is but you do have to work for them and I believe it's full time during the week.
Good Luck
