Hi.
I am moving to California next year and I was just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the uniform that nurses wear please? I know they wear scrubs but thats it. What kind of shoes? Colour scrubs? Are the scrubs warm?
In England, I wear a blue dress with belt, badges, fob watch, pen holders and tights. Will be quite diffferent when I get there!!

Each facility has their own dress code of acceptable uniforms and shoes. You can typically wear scrubs of any color, and sometimes patterned scrubs with cartoon characters are permitted. You can choose to wear athletic shoes (Nike, Reebok, Adidas, New Balance, Skechers, and so forth), or nursing shoes.
I am a native of California, and have been to many facilities before I left in 2005. I saw all sorts of colors and patterns of scrubs, as well as a mixture of nursing shoes and athletic shoes being worn by nursing staff.

The uniform is scrubs just as you said but the color depends on the facility and for shoes, tennis shoes generally depending on the one you want[comfy-wise].No breast watch or any other thing except things like stethoscopes, scissors. With these, you are good to go.
