Trust me I'm on the same boat and it can be very discouraging. Some days I'm just sad about it too but trying to stay positive. IDK what a plan b would be. Like would we have to wait for the next round.
As someone who also had a very hard time finding something in the DFW area, I recommend expanding your search. If your heart is set on a specific specialty, then look in other cities around TX. I'm from Fort Worth, but didn't go to nursing school there so I felt like I was at a disadvantage competing with all the other applicants in the metroplex. I ended up accepting a job in Austin in my dream specialty but had to sacrifice the location-- at least for a year or so until I'm done with the residency program. It is discouraging but I had to remind myself that any experience is good experience! It'll be much easier to land your dream job after having at least a year under your belt, so you may have to start somewhere that isn't your first choice.

I did, I was an internal applicant and did not hear anything back for an interview once they screened me, unfortunately. However, I am in contact with the recruiter she let them know they will be contacting more people once al the initial offers are out and the available departments will hire as so.

I've met nurses who did not do a residency program and applied to a medsurg position (they disclosed their lack of experience) but honestly that depends on your level of comfortability and ability to learn quick. Other than that, some hospitals have residencies that start three times per year (February, July, and October) so we may have to wait if you want to do a residency.
