Nurse Residency

U.S.A. Texas

Hello Nurses ?

I am interested to know if any of you are applying for Nurse residency positions at Parkland Hospital for 2014. Does anyone know what salary they offer for a nurse with some experience. Any information on how many applicants they interview would be helpful also.

Thanks and good luck to all those applying

Itrust do you know how much they offer RN's with experience?

I'm not sure, but I would PM TWU80. He's in the ER residency at Parkland and I think he has previous experience. He's pretty active on this site. GL.

I have an interview for ER later this week, so we'll see how it goes.

I interviewed for the SICU position. The questions from twu80 post SICU residency were pretty much spot on. Only 8 positions. Not sure how I did but it was an experience that's for sure.

What type of questions did you get asked? Was it only 15 mins? Good luck to you! You probably did great!! Only 8 positions ? How many people are interviewing you know?

I'm not for sure but it looked like several had signed in just on today. They asked why parkland? Why sicu? Time you had conflict what did u do? If you can check out the post missrn, bsn wrote on twu80 sicu residency post they were pretty accurate. Interviewed with peers and managers six people in all. I'm not sure it went so well but they made me realize I really want this.

I pray you get it! Wow 6 people that's a lot!

Thanks! I don't think I did that well but if I have to do it again I will try to be more prepared....It was two for manager. Then four in the other room were peers. It was about 15 minutes. Anyone doing SICU It's also 4 months not 6

Has anyone applied for the med-surg residency? If so, what are some tips, and what kind of interview questions did they ask?

Anyone doing SICU It's also 4 months not 6

Thanks for the clarification. I thought that I read somewhere that orientation was 9 months, hence why I was nervous about the contract. If the orientation is only 4 months and you sign the contract immediately after, the commitment is a little less burdensome. Oh well, I called and left a message to withdraw my consideration, and I didn't even get so much as a confirmation e-mail. I also e-mailed the nurse recruiter with questions beforehand and she never got back to me.

GL Maribee, you never know!!!

I applied for medsurg but haven't heard anything at all yet.

Has anyone interviewed and heard back or know how long it takes for a response one way or another?
