migrating to Canada as an internationally trained nurse

  1. I am a registered nurse with 7yrs experience in general nursing. I have a diploma in nursing and is really interested in pursuing my BsN. I am a Jamaican and is really interested in migrating to Canada, however i am thinking of applying as a LPN while doing the BsN partime. I am therefore seeking advise on this matter. Which province do you think is best. How do i go about doing this. Are there any agencies that could assist with this process? Your help is greatly appreciated.

The first thing you should do is read the stickies at the bottom of the Nursing in Canada forum. You will need to contact the college of nurses in the province in which you want to work and they will give you information on how to apply. An agency is not needed or recommended. The application process is one you can do yourself and an agency cannot change or expediate the outcome.Which province you choose is up to you.Best of luck.If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask.

As well as meeting provincial requirements and remember Canada is a huge country and we don't know what you want out of your move to decide which province will suit you, you will have to meet immigration requirements. The new list comes out at the end of the month and not sure if nursing will be on the list otherwise the only way you can move is to find a employer willing to go either TWP or PR or look at another route.
