Hourly Rate / Salary of FNP

Specialties NP

Published

Hello everyone...

I will be applying for FNP jobs (probably in Maryland) before I know it. I am starting to really research what a "good" contract, pay, benefits, ect... would be.

Can anyone who is working as an FNP (or CRNP of another specialty) lend some advice?

What is your place of employment, specialty, and what do you get paid... benefits?

thanks for your help..

I have been applying at different hospitals in nyc for np jobs.

The salary has been ranging from $80,000 (a city hospital) to $94,000 ( a private hospital) base. They also pay experience differential for your RN experience which is about $1,000 for each yr. You can also get certification pay which is from $1200 to 2200 paid annually. And a night diffrential.

The benefits as far as vacation, sick time and such varies. But I have found that private unionized hospitals pay the best but the city hospitals tend to have better benefits. Most of the hospitals I have interviewed at pay the NPs the same no matter what department you are applying for.

Hi.. thanks for your reply. are you an FNP? if so, what are the rules regrading FNPs working in acute care in the state of New York?

Here in maryland, the BON says that FNPs can work with patients in non-monitored beds. I'm not really sure if i agree with it.. but it is what it is right now.

what kind of hours have these jobs been? Do they pay hourly or salary?

thanks.

I am a FNP. NYS to my knowledge has no rules regarding where a FNP can work. I have seen them working in floors with stepdown/monitored bedS.

The hours have mainly been flex 12hr/3days a week with a few 10hr/4days a week jobs. And all the hospitals pay salaried.

Hourly rates in this area (Texas) for starting NPs working in family practice seem to range from $37.00/hr(with benefits) to $50.00/hr (without benefits) depending on the size of the practice.

I am in office based practice - no call - no hospital - have worked for the group >7 years - up to 6 weeks vacation , 1 week CME ( paid for to $1500) 1 week sick time - make now over 110,000 plus usually year end bonus --

Reply to deannichols ( sorry I can not figure out how to reply to you ) I think it is me - I saw something about not being able to do private messaging until you had 15+ postings - so it may be that since I am new to the forum )

I trained as an FNP - graduated from the University of Tx Health Science Center - San Antonio in 1999.
