Whoa-I think I was misunderstood! I didn't mean to disparage anyone. I have a great deal of respect for NP's , like midwives who were grandfathered in before the current educational and licensing credentials-because they have nursing experience! I stand by my assertion that I don't think anyone should be a Nurse Practitioner without the proper education and experience in Nursing-not biol., chem. or literature. etc. You need to generalize before you can specialize. I have a BSN-I can't decide to be a master chemist with no chemistry experience-get it now?

It seems your ultimate goal is to provide medical care as a midlevel provider . NP is not your only option especially with your BS in biology. Ever consider PA route? This is the route that I have chosen and it has been a great choice so far. Either way you choose, your BS in biology will be more helpful than you can ever imagine!
