Hello Nurses!
I am graduating with my BSN in May. I understand I am yearsss away from even considering Legal Nurse consultant (LNC) and going back to school for NP. I have found information on RNs becoming LNC. Are nurse practitioners able to do this as well or is this not even a thing? If anyone has information that would be amazing and greatly appreciated!!

Hello @gmart,
Yes, Nurse Practitioners can be Legal Nurse Consultants (LNC).
I am an OB-GYN/Family Nurse Practitioner and also an LNC.

Many people think of LNC as exclusively working background in an atty firm on med malpractice cases. However, there are many other great ways to be a legal nurse consultant.
One role is as a testifying expert, and for many cases an advanced practice nurse would be highly desirable. You could work as an ANP and do expert work on the side. Many folks do that. if you’re still working clinically you would be very much in demand precisely for that reason.
