I am an ICU nurse with an interest in legal nursing. I don't know that I want to start out directly into LNC. I am more interested in beginning with nurse paralegal work and later pursuing LNC. I looked at a program at Thomas Edison State College in nurse paralegal studies. Is anyone familiar with this program or have recommendations for any other specifically nurse paralegal programs?

My only comment is that once an attorney sees (and is used to paying) you as a paralegal, it seems to me that it might be difficult to change that mindset over to the lnc role.
It is unlikely that you would NOT use your nursing experience in a paralegal role, so switching to lnc would not be seen as an advantage to the attorney.

Hello, stellsbells and welcome to the Legal Nursing forum.
I'm not familiar with that particular program.
One thing you do need to be aware of is the actual Scope of Practice (SOP) regarding this career path. You need to check with your state BON to see if Nurse Paralegal is within the RN SOP.
Good luck with your goals.
