nurse manager was rude to me

I can't take it any more. I've posted previously about certain co-workers throwing me under the bus, but today my NM was particularly ******. The phone was ringing and because I didn't pick it up, she looked at me with disgust and said "you know, you can pick up the phone" with a very sarcastic tone. Just the other day, I'm picking up the phone every 2 minutes, and she happened to call a few times, and she comments that I'm the only one picking up the phone. She runs hot and cold. All I could do was look at her and mumble "I'm sorry"

***...I feel like no matter what I do, it's not good enough.

Totally understand your frustration. My NM is the same way. Never know how to take her. Well, she is a lot nicer to her favorites. The favs are suck-ups, some are lazy and spend time talking to her instead of patient care, and they tend to tattle on every little thing just to keep something stirred up. It adds extra stress to the work environment. It feels like we have "cliques", just like high school. Fun, huh? Our morale is really, really low right now on our floor.

Good to release here...it will build up and eat away at you. Just do your best to lay low, do your job, and look forward to going home!

EDIT: And, I just realized how old this original post was. Oh well. I am sure all advice still applies.
