Does anyone know what an orienting nurse intern makes? say on a basic med surge floor in Arizona? I have found variances between 25 and 60K.

Welcome to AN! The question you asks requires much more information that just a title and example floor. Are nurse interns nurses on orientation or nursing students working in between semesters in a designated position? What area of the country? It's quite a multifactorial answer, and more info than provided is necessary to provide any kind of a guess (and that's pretty much all you'll be able to get here).

As RoseQueen said, this is nearly impossible to answer for you. A better indicator of how much you can expect to be paid are others who work in the facility you are interested in, and the HR recruiter telling you about the job.

A nurse intern may be a student (unlicensed) who is essentially a tech. They get paid pretty much what a tech makes. Temporary position. A nurse intern may be a graduate of a nursing program (also unlicensed) who is working with an interim permit (interim between graduation and taking the NCLEX exam). Also a temporary position. And a nurse intern may be a licensed nurse who has been hired permanently and is orienting to the hospital and/or unit. There's your wide variance :)
