Hi,

I am new here and I am from Germany.

I live here with my husband and 3 kids since almost 8 years!

My youngest son will start Kindergarten after summer so that i think that this is for me a good opportunity to start working again here in the US. Right now I try to find out what I have exactly to do in order to resive my Florida licence as a German with a German Nurse Diploma!

Is there somebody who can tell me which way I have to go. I am sorry I know I have still to work on my english-skills.

I am a student nurse in Germany and will be graduating in 2011.

My wish is to move to the states and work there, but i dont know what exactly i need to be able to work there.

Should i need to get all my paper work translated in English?

How do the americans want OUR(german) Zeugniss to look like?(cause i have to talk to my principal and ask him if he can arrange the Zeugniss process for me)

Please advice me.

PS. I just got engaged(wedding date is set) :) to my long time boyfriend who is an american and i hope i wont have any problems with the working permit or Visa!

Regarding meeting RN requirements you will need to check the state board of nursing out for the state you plan on living and working and see what their requirements are for foreign trained nurse. You can find links to state boards of nursing at the bottom of the page. You will need transcripts breaking down your training into clinical hours and theory hours and what speciality main ones being General adult, Mental Health, Paeds and Obstetrics

I am taking the Adult nursing (Gesundheit und Krankenpflege) and ill be done in October 2011.

My boyfriend is stationed in Wiesbaden and he wont leave till 2015 , when his tour is over, but i just want to make sure i have all the infos before i leave Germany.(i would also like to work in an american hospital in Germany)

How does the transcript look like? or how does my translated Zeugniss suppost to look like? do u have a sample so i can show it to my Schulleiter?

PS. Ill be moving to Dallas, TX or Tennessee not sure yet.

Transcripts have to come from the school of nursing where you are doing your training. Texas requires CES from CGFNS and appears that Tennessee requires CGFNS exam
