The only thing being martyred here is common sense from not protecting patients.
You don't seem to understand that I don't believe I need to put myself at risk for my patients. Sorry...but I am more important than them. I risk a lot already...I don't have to always put the patient first.

What are you talking about? Nobody said the flu shot causes the flu. Nobody.[Ummmmmmm.....that comment would be tongue in cheek. It's a joke. In my experience, in pretty much every single conversation I've ever had with anyone (even other nurses) someone inevitably says that they got the flu from the flu vaccine.

I think we get it. You don't need or want to put yourself at any risk for your patients because you are more important. Nor does it matter if you put them at risk. Or, if THEY put YOU at risk, which is half the reason for requiring health care workers to get vaccinated.

I understand perfectly what you are saying. I am stating what is consistent with WHO, CDC, AMA, ANA etc is that by not being vaccinated you are endangering your patients. The risk from vaccines is negligible and if you even take one OTC medication than you have already exceeded your risk from flu vaccine, so your risk argument is mere fallacy.
