Could anyone please give me any advice on taking the NET test? Can you please guide me a resource I could use to help prepare myself for the test. Is the math section on the test hard? I am a very weak in math, and I have been out of high school almost 11 years, so really that is the only section of the test I am terrified of. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!!!!!

You can order "the NET study guide" from this website:

The study guide gives some information and practice questions. It just kind of eased my mind as to what the test would be like....
Ooooops! someone else was a little quicker on the draw.... :)
actually, looking at the time of postings, we "drew" at the same time.

I was able to check that book out from my school library. Being frugal, I don't want to spend $28.50 plus s/h for a book I'm going to use once. But I think it's overall a pretty easy test, lots of common sense. Good luck to you!

The test is set up exactly like the study guide. We not allowed to use calculators for the math section. There is also a section that tests your study style but you are not graded it on it. I wish you the best of luck.

hi all,
there are several threads on here that talk about the net. check them out. here is some info that i have posted on my own website that tells about the net, and below it is a few links that have net info on them.
information concerning the net (nurse entrance test)
the net test has gotten a lot of people freaked out! but, it can be passed. the main thing to remember is it is just a test!! we have all had to take them, and once a person gets into nursing school, it won't change! there will still be many a test to take!!
many people have emailed me asking what to expect on the net, so i will supply as much info as i can remember about it!!
there are various sections on the net that you will be tested on. most schools, though, only look at the reading and math portion, not any of the rest. why the rest is on there, i have no clue, but it is. so, here are the portions that you will test over, and what they contain:
critical thinking appraisal
learning style
auditory
oral
social
solitary
visual
writing
algebra equations
reading
reading rate per minute
reading percentile rank
reading level
academic
topics (science)
written expression
the net is a timed test, so be prepared to go quickly, but make sure that you take enough time to understand what you are reading. the test only grades you on the questions that you answer correctly, so it is to your benefit that you answer as many as you can. good luck if you are having to take the test and remember, this is one step closer to getting into the program!! make sure to check out the above link for net test practice. it is a great site!

the first site has practice questions and breaks the net down. the 2nd one is a pdf that is a workbook for the net and the 3rd one is a site that has actual screen shots to show you how the test looks. when i went to the site, it was unavailable, so they must be working on it. i was just on there earlier and it was working, so keep trying it.
at my school, we could use calcualtors, but some schools will not allow them. it all depends on the school.
also, the eri website does sell the book, but if your library has it, check it out there before you buy it. i seriously did not care for it when i got it, and thought it was a waste of money. the above website for hfcclab, to me, was so much better.
i was out of school for 18 years before i took the net, and never had algebra in school, so i was really worried about how i would do in the test, but the math is very, very basic. add., sub., mult., div., percentages, ratios and decimals and very basic algebra. the reading, to most people, is much more difficult, although it doesn't seem like it until you get your grade!!
