Nurse differential pay question

Nurses General Nursing

I got my offer letter from the hospital. It states “Your base rate of pay will be $25.50. If you work during the hours of 3pm and 7am, this rate will increase by 15% for shift differential.”

If I work 7pm-7am( night shift), will I get the 15% differential?

Im just a little confused on how they worded it

thanks!

Yes. Your start and end time are w/in the time frame.

I worked for Dignity Health from 7 am to 7pm. I received a shift diff (think it was 15% above my base rate) for the hours from 3-7 pm. like you mentioned. However, if I worked night shift from 7 pm to 7 am, the rate was even higher (something like 18%). Based on your post, it appears that you would get a 15% increase above your base rate from 3 pm to 7 am. Just call HR and ask them your questions if you are not sure. They will understand. Good luck!
