I participated in the nurse corps scholarship program in college, are you aware that you need to join the ROTC program as well? The stipulations where that you sign a military contract (army/navy/air force) your freshmen year, and participate in ROTC while in school and ultimately commission as a Nurse Corps officer upon graduation. You're not obligated to work in undeserved communities, you're obligated to serve 4 years active duty service and 4 years reserves in the military. Just making sure you're aware of all the fine print! ; )
Yeah the military program you're talking about is different. The Nurse Corps Scholarship Program is NOT a military program.
I hoped to apply, but it requires that one of your two references be academic. I can't provide that. All of my prerequisite classes have been online so far, and I haven't had a good enough relationship with any of the professors to ask despite that. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hello all!
I am just wondering if anyone has done the nurse corps scholarship program and how it is working out for them. I've considered doing it just so I won't leave nursing school with debt. For those who are unfamiliar with this it is a program in which they basically pay your tuition in exchange for your service as a nurse in underserved communities and they provide you with a stipend for rent, etc. Thanks for the feedback!
