Nurse career advise

Hello , I need advise as to pursue a nurse career. Since I was in my 20 I wanted to purse a career in nursing up until I had the most frightening experience that made my whole aspect of nusing change. My sister called me one day saying her doctor wanted to see her for her test result it was pretty urgent for the doc to see her , she had taken a HIV test that came back active and i remember breaking down with her in the doc office crying , well the doc said that they had retested it and it was negative but she needed to be tested every 3 months for the whole year. That **** got me traumatized to the core . Now I have a FEAR of HIV even taking my own physicals because I'm like how can you test active and then negative . That's the reason I stop pursuing nusing I'm scared I'm gonna catch something or poke myself with a needle . It seems like I have that in back of me thinking what if I regret it later that I stop pursuing that career . Any advised would be appreciated :-)
