Nurse Candidiate Program FY 2014

Published

Hello,

I recently submitted my application for the nurse candidate program and I am waiting to hear back. My recruiter said, he is waiting for the board to meet and the number of seats they will be filling.

Does anyone know how long the waiting period actually is and the number of seats they usually feel?

Signed,

Anxious

Hi Lilbont!

I got into the Navy Nurse Candidate Program in May 2013. I first submitted my application in October 2012 and found out I had been accepted on April 29, 2013. My application was very back and forth. Every month or so, my recruiter would call me and say I needed just one more form or piece of information. I was pretty pessimistic about the whole thing by the time I found out I had been accepted. I'm not sure exactly how many they take, but I think it's 70 students for every graduating year and that 35 are selected at a time. (I really have no idea though. That's just what I've heard in previous threads and in the role call NCP class of 2014 thread.)

If you have any more questions for me, feel free to ask. Good luck in the selection process! :)

Thanks for the Reply elisabethm. I wonder why it takes so long to find out. Where do you attend college and when do you graduate from nursing school?

I will keep my fingers crossed and continue to work hard in school

I have no idea why it takes so long. I know it's hard to wait. I go to school in Colorado and will be graduating in May 2014. It sure is a relief to know I'll have a job when I'm done! All my friends are just barely starting to freak out about finding one, so it's nice to have something lined up. What about you? Are you a 2015 grad?

Hahahahahahaha, get used to the military. Everything including pay, PCSing, training or what have you takes FOREVER!

I graduate Dec 2014 :) I reside in Virginia Beach, Va
