Hi,
I am in nursing school and have had a recurring mrsa infection to the nares. I never knew it was mrsa until recently and have started some treatment for it. are mrsa people allowed to work as nurses? i'm devastated and afraid.

MRSA in the nares is a common occurrence.
I work in a hospital and we swab all our patients. Many patients are positive and physicians elect not to treat their patients. Unless you have a compromised immune system you will be pretty safe. Remember hand washing is very important for you, and encourage your patients to wash hands also.
There is no need to be scared. Your MD can give you ointment for your nose to clear up the MRSA.
Take care!

honey don't worry! you can pick up mrsa in wal-mart. as long as your immune system is intact there is no need to worry. get mrsa now, or get it later.....we'll all eventually be infected with it if we stay in the profession long enough.

Don't pick your nose I guess.
Just because you have antibiotic resistant bacteria doesn't mean your own immune system can't handle it...

Ive been reading article about the some of antiinfective properties associated with marijuana, being studied. This is true. At last a treatment that is fun. Definitely affect the nares.
Marijuana is generally harmful, both psychologically and physically. Normally the health risk would greatly outweigh any possible benefits.

They were never too bright to begin with. But they have always been very amusing.
