Hello all! I FINALLY graduate from my nursing program in eight weeks and will be thirty credits short of my BSN :) In exploring CRNA programs, I have not had this question answered: Are students rotated through family planning and abortion clinics? If so, are they usually administering the anesthetics, observing, or taking a limited role in the procedure? Any answers to this question will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Pokey SN

I am not aware of any schools that actually rotate through family planning/abortion clinics. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I am not aware of any. Generally, there would be no need for such a rotation, because what you need to know about that type of anesthesia (and my understanding is tha most patients undergoing this type of procedure don't need much more than a little sedation) you would learn in regular OB rotations.
