Hi all!

Does anybody know about the experience of being a new grad at this hospital? Or do you know anyone who was a new grad and started here (good or bad)?

I just started there and I love it! I'm in one of the fellowship programs, which I highly recommend, but I know other people who just applied to positions in med surge or as a float and they like it as well. They hire a lot of new grads. I've found them to be very supportive of new grads and the learning process. They also have decent benefits and encourage your professional growth in a lot of ways. However, I'm sure the environment really depends a lot on which unit you're on. Did you have any specific questions?

Thanks for the input! I'm starting on a tele unit in a couple weeks so I wanted to get an idea of what orientation would be like being that I am a new grad

Hi Go Veg,

congrats on your new position. Do you have a any advise for me as I am still sending numerous applications daily and hoping to start my NUrsing career one of these days? I am at my witts end right now.

Thank you! Definitely know how you feel. I don't have any concrete advice and if I did it would revolve around patience which I know gets annoying to hear after awhile. My dad would tell me throughout my search to just be positive and everything will fall into place. Before you know it you'll have tons of options at your door which is what really did happen in my case. Try your best to stay positive and hopefully your time will come sooner than later! If you can take classes in the mean time like AcLS, IV certification, pharmacology, EKG, etc. Whatever you can to help yourself standout is probably the next best thing I would say.
