I wanted to start a thread for people that have applied to the Fall2019 Nursing Program at Nashville State (NSCC).
Does anyone know when we will be receiving notifications for interview? Do they call us, send an email or letter by mail?
Good luck to everyone that have applied!
Hey guys
How were your interviews? I think I did ok. I was nervous in the beginning with the first question, but it got better after.
They asked 4 questions in my group, they were all behavioral/situational questions! (Tell me a time..., What would you do...) How about yours?
There were 7 people total in my interview group, and the interview group was done by a faculty member and one of the current Nursing students.
I might be wrong but I think there were only 2 groups of interviews yesterday ( 3pm and 4:30pm). They didn’t say it was only 2 groups, I am just assuming. They will probably have more interviews another day though... but idk, they didn’t say and nobody in my group asked, so who knows!?
I also notice a couple of things: The 2 groups were divided alphabetically by last name. I say this because I noticed when she started calling the names on my group (3pm). So the first group (3pm) was from A to about either J, K or L. So I believe the second group (430pm) was the other half of the alphabet, the other thing is I believe there were about 50 people in the first group, maybe a little more. I know there were 5 chairs per row, and maybe about 10 rows?
Everyone seemed to be very prepared and well dressed. I thought in my interview group everyone did pretty good in answering the questions too.
She didn't say when we will find out about the results, she just said it was going to be soon.
Anybody want to comment about the interview day? ?

I had 5 other people in my group. They were all very basic questions and everyone in my group did really well. I don't even remember what I said really but hopefully it was okay! The advisor interviewing us said they are sending out letters Monday so we should know next week! So nervous!
I was in the 430 group. There were 8 people in my panel and we only It was my understanding that the interviews were just at 3 and 430. I could be wrong. I am skeptical that letters will be sent out Monday as posted above- My understanding was that final decisions will be made after final grades for the semester are posted, and grades are not due until May 6.

Yeah, the Director said that they have to wait until all the grades are posted so they can make the final decision. But I'm wondering, how about those that already have all the classes completed... can they make a decision on those before May?

They might send out the first batch of letter to those that have already completed all the prerequisite classes. And then, maybe a second batch after they receive the grades for the other group that are still waiting for grades.
Anybody else wants to share more info from the interview day? Did anybody hear anything else about when we should receive the letters? Do they send acceptance and denial letters around the same time? How about waiting list letters, do they go out at the same time too?
Thanks for those that shared, it will definitely help the people that want to apply to the program in future. I know I was searching this site for every little piece of info when I decided to apply to the program. So it feels good to leave my own piece of advice/info for others applying in the future.
I got accepted at Motlow, which I am very happy about! If I also receive an acceptance from Nashville State, I'm gonna have to make a tough decision, as I know both schools are great and very comparable!! We'll see!

Congratulations on your Motlow acceptance! Thats awesome! And I bet they send out 2 batches of interviews like stated above. My advisor said the director of nursing was pretty adamant about sending them out Friday, but she also said most dates are very up in the air with the nursing program.
Hey Guys! I was in Emma's group so I can vouch that they did say the letters would be going out next week! We had the same type of questions ( When was time you..., What is something difficult you..., etc.) They weren't hard but not all of them were what I expected either! I personally am not good in a group setting so I found myself talking fast and leaving out important parts. My group had 6 other people and they all had great answers. If any of the other groups were like mine I would imagine it to be very difficult to narrow it down to 50 people because everyone sounded like they would make great nurses!
If you have any questions there was time after our interview for them! I found it especially nice because the people interviewing us was a nursing student and a faculty member. They said that people who are applying for their second time around are looked at a little more closely (maybe given a bit more priority?) because they are trying again and showing that this is what they want! I am hoping we hear back soon and I too am curious about how they will choose their class. I am bias and am hoping that students with classes already complete are favored!

I think there's one person here in this thread also interviewing at 4:30.
