Aside from the obvious length of education what is the difference between a nurse practitioner and a physician?
I was looking at the difference between a psych nurse practitioner and a psychiatrist and they both seem to do the exact same thing... the psych nurse practitioners maybe even do a little more since they have training in psychotherapy which most psychiatrists don't use.
Anyone?

Nope. Many of us saw Jules A's now removed post, and took it as a heads-up.

Are you looking at it as a professional choice or as a personal provider choice?
Professionally, could act very similarly, but a psychiatrist , who would also be an MD, would be paid about 4-5 times more than a NP.
NP might have more varied role, psychiatrists will most likely be focused on medication management.

OP,
Despite your faulty line of reasoning I don't think the psychiatrists are in danger of extinction.
As far as Jules A's post being pulled, I have a suggestion.
Maybe all taboo posts could be housed behind a jail cell like graphic and AN could charge a minimal fee to the less easily offended to view them.
