NP student looking for a preceptor

Hello-

I'm a NP student. I'm currently looking for preceptors in the South California area. MD or NP working in the area of primary care/ long-term care/ nursing home would be ideal. If you know anyone who can please let me know.

I will suggest that you try this organization Find an NP - California Association for Nurse Practitioners and email at least 30 NP's. I was able to locate my preceptors through my state NP association. You might be able to locate someone through AANP as well AANP Find a Nurse Practitioner

Hello ms_sgr, bsn- thank you for your feedback. Yes, I was able to find my first preceptor last year through CANP. But this time, I am not getting much luck using CANP.

Have you tried contacting nursing homes to find out what doctor or NP is seeing the patients. I can email you the list of facilities that have been used by students at my school if you like.

This looks like a good organization to join Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA)

This site is good for women's health NPWH - Practices There aren't a lot of NP's listed but maybe you can find someone
