At some point I want to get my NP. I'm presently working in the ED so think I probably want to stay in acute care (however don't know yet). What are some of the roles/specialties NPs have in the acute care setting?

Most ER's like to higher FNP's for their ability to treat all age groups.

Most Acute Care NP's (AGACNP's) typically function as hospitalists, work for intensivists, work for surgeons, or other specialties like trauma.
