I am thinking of applying to a direct entry NP program to eventually work as a psychiatric np. I'm also considering other career paths including medical school. I am wondering what nursing school and NP school are really like. For those who have been through it...did you have a good experience? Since a lot of students in NP programs work part-time while pursuing their masters, is there still commraderie/ socializing within the class? Did you feel like you had good mentors and recieved good training to function as an NP?
Also...do you feel that you are respected by your patients and by doctors/other medical staff?
