Hi all. I will soon be a new grad and we are moving to California. I currently live in Florida and I know there is a huge difference in pay between the two states. I am completing my BSN-DNP Family NP program in May. However, I do not think that the DNP will give me a salary increase, at least from what I can find. I was hoping to see if anyone could give an estimate of what I should accept as a decent offer as a new grad in the Santa Maria area. Thank you!

I'm in California and started my first job in March 2018. Pay depends on location - California is a big state. In San Diego, new grad pay is $90K to $110K, which is low given the cost of living, because so many people want to live there. You will make a lot more in Central California, relative to cost of living, than on the coast, because there is a shortage of all PCPs in inland California.
Santa Maria is in a desireable location. I would guess starting pay for a new grad would be in the $110 to $125K range. Compensation includes salary plus there is usually some kind of bonus system, as well as sign on/retention bonuses. Also consider benefits like PTO, CE time and budget, etc.
Most employers do not pay DNPs more, with the exception of the federal government.
I work in a rural very small town FQHC in far Northeast California and my first year comp is about $125K with bonuses. If I were an FNP (I'm Adult) I could work the Saturday clinic once or twice a month and easily make $135K or more.
Good luck.

Damn that is low for San Diego. I can make 100K starting out in Tennessee in an area where you can buy a nice house for 150k.

Mostly between 98-120K, it really depends where you work.

Not necessarily FNP specific but our NP I designation (new grad, no RN experience) starts at $74.96/hr or $156,516.00/year plus benefits.
