NP Fall 2018 UTMB

Published

Any applicants for the NP Programs at UTMB for the Fall 2018? I'm still waiting for a decision.

Yes, it also mentioned there were slot available for AGNP. I'm torn... what about you?

I think it depends on where you see yourself practicing as an advanced care provider. With my interest in adult radiation oncology adult gero primary care is definitely a no brainer as we don't see OB and definitely don't see pediatric.

Some say this limits you as you are not licensed to care for patients under the age of 13 whereas FNP covers whole life span. When I went for the open house in February they told us the FNP program always gets a wait list as it is their most popular program.

I am really having trouble deciding between UTMB Gerontology and UT health's. I've read about a few ineffecient professors at UT Health but wasn't sure if there has been a shake-up or not? I live near TMC, it would be ideal in terms of logistics and cost to attend UT Health, but I'm willing to forego that for better instructors (at UTMB). Does anyone have any insight on this? Thank you!
