NP to CRNA

I was wondering if there were any CRNAs who were NPs first? I am currently a primary care NP but I was an ICU nurse previously. I absolutely hate being an NP and I am applying for CRNA school. I miss the hands on aspect of patient care as well as the procedures and drips. I am wanting to hear other folks' journeys about transitioning from NP to CRNA, the reason why, and overall satisfaction after transition.

Hi, I am an acute care Np and recently applied to a crna program and got in! I currently work in the ICU as a NP but if you have all your pre reqs and experience you need, it will only put you ahead of the rest of the applicants!

Thanks for your insight! Did they ask you to return back to the bedside at all or was the school satisfied that you worked in the ICU as an NP? My concern is that I may have a bigger battle since I have been away from the bedside for a year... but I am trying to land a quick travel nurse contract to show recent experience. Also, what motivated you to go back to school despite already being an NP?

I did not to return back to the bedside, the NP experienced over sufficed.
