NP in canada with a degree from US?

Hello all

I am in a very difficult situation right now and would like to have some input from everyone.

I am a Canadian with a BScN from Canada and working in the US right now, but thinking of going back to school to get my NP degree. My dilemma is whether to get the degree in a US school or a Canadian school.

I am personally interested in Walden's University because the tuition fee is affordable (my TN visa won't allow me to get in-state tuition fee) and they have multiple entry date for the program so I don't have to wait for another year to start if I apply now.

My problem is that this program is very new and I don't know how good it is and if BON in Canada would considered it as equivalent to the NP programs in Canada. I have called the board of nursing in Ontario and they said they would have to do an case by case evaluation with the transcript. But how would I have a transcript before doing the program...!?

As I was saying, the program is new so Walden couldn't tell me if any of their graduates successfully made it to Canada. So my question is....What do y'all think??? what should I do??????

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Thanks for your input! I want to have the option to practice in both the US and Canada because of personal situation....

All you can do is take the program and hope for the best. They evaluate on a case by case basis so there is no way of knowing before hand.
