Congrats!! Just curious about the mac program I heard there's alot of in person classes? So meaning whoever gets in would have to move if they don't live in Hamilton

Wednesday and Thursday in person for the first semester atleast!

Hey all-- I have gotten into Mac and U of T for the MN-NP programs-- I am really having a tough time deciding which to take. Has anyone heard anything that has swayed their decision in one way over another?

The program at U of T sounds great, but the tuition is astronomical. Folks I have talked to at McMaster seem to really not enjoy the program, but tuition is half the price of U of T. Would appreciate any insight/thoughts.

I chose McMaster , since it's part of the Primary care consortium of universities teaching the same  primary care- focus  circculum , u of t is not part of that. . McMaster also gives generous entrance scholarships vs u of T.   However u of t is mostly online

I am curious - what did your friends say regarding McMaster's program they didn't like?

yes-- I know that U of T isn't (which maybe is why tuition is so much more!?). Based on the admission letter I received, it sounds as though they are focusing their program toward PHC this year as opposed to streaming it into specialities (eg: adult/child). You are right re: entrance scholarships!

Those who I have heard from just found the layout of the program (which I suppose is the same across the consortium) to be disadvantageous to application/retention of content. As well, they found the school itself to be quite rigid.

Thanks for the link to the consortium page-- do you know if there is benefit to graduating from a school within the consortium versus a school outside of it?

Appreciate your insight and comments 🙂

Specializes in Nurse.

Waiting list at UWO for PHCNP.., Waiting games.
