Novant Health Nurse Residency Summer 2025

Published

Hey all, wanted to start the Summer cohort thread since I didn't see one made. I got waitlisted for ED in the Charlotte market. Does anyone have any insight about the chances of getting off the waitlist? Is it possible? This is my top choice hospital ugh.

Hi I applied for placement in Wilmington starting in the Summer cohort! I could be wrong but I remember being told that if you're waitlisted, you will receive an offer but it may be later in the application process or for another specialty. I haven't heard back yet. Out of curiosity, when did you hear from Charlotte Market? I was told we would hear by the end of February but maybe it will be sooner if you heard back already!

Congrats! I do hope you're right haha. I've been told Novant really wastes no time in getting back to you on these things and they sure are quick. They emailed me on 2/4, if it weren't for the weekend it probably would've been even sooner. I accepted being waitlisted so now I'm just waiting (and hoping LOL) that a spot opens up soon. They said I could receive an offer from now until August, which is their last start date. If not then I can be confident I don't have a spot. I really want to start in June/July so fingers crossed!

Hi! I wanted to see if anyone got offered or accepted a job in the Greater Winston market Adult acute care. I applied to NICU and Women's Health as well but they did not have anymore openings since they are limited to a certain amount of applicants I believe.

@bsngal25 I also wanted NICU in Winston but I got offered a position in the cardiac residency!

That's awesome congratulations!

Hi again! Does anyone know how many applicants are usually accepted into the NICU or Women's Health specialty ? If so, what was the criteria needed to be accepted?

I applied for women's health and was not accepted despite applying early, having a great interview and good academic stats overall, so I'm not sure how they are picking. It's just a really competitive specialty along with NICU and pediatrics. If you are willing to take the opportunity from multiple markets rather than one then I'd say there's a better chance. But of course you'd have to be open to the idea of relocating.

Hi I received an email about being offered a spot in the program and was very excited because my top choice was pediatrics. However, in the email it did not say what unit I would be on, so therefore I assumed it was my top choice. How do you know what unit they are offering you?

A classmate of mine was given an offer and she wasn't told either. She said they wanted to do a follow-up with her and she thinks they will discuss it then.

Had my interview for the program today, how long did it take to get an offer/rejection?
