No program is perfect. There is a lot of good and positive about Nova. The grass is not always greener on the other side, either. There are always students that are going to make a mountain out of a mole hill, or disagree with everything vehemently. Personally, I’m 95% happy with the program. That’s an A+, people. The instruction, benefits of a small campus, access to faculty, easy access to generous grants, good and clean facilities, and the nice things done for us regularly make it a good place to be. Kaplan is that other 5%. So let’s not hang the school for not being perfect.

Does anyone know if a high 80 on the Kaplan test is considered satisfactory for the program??

Don’t do it. Go to Miami Dade, FIU, UM or west coast. Don’t say you were not warned. Nova is the most dysfunctional nursing program there is… even CEO’s from other companies laugh at the disaster Nova is. Don’t be fooled! Decline your acceptance and go somewhere else. Don’t say you were not warned!
Whatever you do, do NOT go to nova Miami campus. You will be miserable by the time you get to 2nd semester. They are a mess, disorganized, they get away with verbal abuse. Ask any student there now… especially the 5th and 6th semester students. Do your homework, ask about the experience by literally parking outside Miami campus and ask any miserable faced teal scrub student walking in/out. I should have done that. Don’t say you weren’t warned. I’m surprised that particular campus has not faced any additional law suits. Just to give you a perspective (and it’s just the tip of the iceberg) the students who are good, participate in class, are excellent, will always get in trouble for something they didn’t do. The “bad” students get away with skipping class, cheating on tests, not showing their face on zoom. Bullying occurs every day and if you report it, they will make yoj feel like you are lying and they don’t back you up. Violence? A student once smacked another student in the face with a badge reel and when she was reported, the administration did: NOTHING. Just do your homework and look past the “pretty colors” that nova Miami paints for you. It’s all fake until they snag you and your tuition payment.
For any innocent student looking at nova southeastern university (Miami campus) for nursing school. BEWARE. Ask any student there now. The administrators are TYRANTS. they are cheap in supplies (make you re-use gloves that other sweaty hands have been in, have no respect for students in any sense, are extremely RUDE and condescending, they “stop recording” lecture when they are going to say something nasty to us so you never have evidence, they strip you of your constitutional rights, their black professors and admins DISRESPECT Cuban students (Romer actually grabbed an ID off a student’s badge reel and let it swing back hurting the student!! It was witnessed by three other students), countless displays of disorganization, you get in trouble if you are too persistent with requests and inquiries, basically it’s a communism with a mask. Don’t say you were not warned. Stay away from this private school that HIDES behind their shark and teal. You will pay $10,000.00 a semester and will not benefit from it in any way. Whatever you learn is because Youtube exists, because UWorld exists, because registered Nurse RN exists and Mark Klimek….the students, have kept countless journals on specific incidents of the administration’s behavior towards us. Come stand outside of the Miami campus and INTERVIEW any 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th semester student…. Do not accept an interview from Nova Miami without talking to several STUDENTS FIRST! This was our biggest mistake in life. You have a right to stand on the sidewalk and talk to students about the experience. Nova Miami will eventually fail as a school. They can’t keep doing what they are doing for much longer. The truth will come out in the open soon. A professor even talked about how, “nova Miami is having a hard time getting more students to enroll in the next incoming semester.” Good. That’s how it should be until they change their tyrannical ways.
