Nova Southeastern University BSN Entry Level Fall 2016

Published

Hey guys! So I'm starting this new article for the students applying for the Fall term 2016, just wanted to get to know some of you and see how everyone is feeling about the application process. My interview is on Tuesday and I'm pretty nervous, wondering who else has the same date.

Hey I'm applying too! How did your interview go?! Tell us everything! :) All of my transcripts just got in so I'm waiting for a phone call about an interview hopefully! I talked to a woman from the nursing dept today & she said that they no longer do the interviews as groups! We will be alone with 2 people from the nursing dept! Praying I get the phone call soon! I started reviewing for the kaplan just in case. Are you applying to any other programs?

I too applied to the program! I am eagerly waiting for an interview. All my applications, transcripts , letters of recommendation have been received. I called the Undergraduate nursing department last week and was told that they will be sending out invites for interviews next week or the week after by mail. So everyday I am running to the mailbox hoping its the day... but sadly nothing so far. So as anxious as I am.... I called again this week and spoke to someone in the undergraduate office who told me that they are still reviewing applicants and that to give them more time, and that we will be contacted by email for interview invites. Well now I'm so confused whether or not it will be in the mail or my email so i guess i will be checking both multiple times a day. Are they giving interviews to students already enrolled in Nova before they are doing transfers?

I just interviewed yesterday for the Fort Myers campus! I was expecting the Kaplan to be worse but ended up with a 91 or 92 overall! The interview was very relaxed and everyone was really nice. Anyone else interviewing for the Fort Myers campus?

Are you guys currently students at Nova or transfers? When did you apply ?

0Hi guys! I have yet to see a thread for Nova Southeastern's Entry level BSN for Fall of 2016! So I would like to get this going and follow everyone's journey! May the odds be ever in your favor la9MFCKoIaKIlaHjVuttgx238A8l+oISTPknrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC here's my current situation :

I currently go to BC and I am scheduled to be done in the summer with ANP2 and micro. I have applied to the program and I have received an interview date ! I am extremely nervous especially because I have read a lot about how the entrance exam science portion is more about ANP2 and physiology more than anything. I wish everyone the best of luck! I cannot tell anyone how the process goes until I do it! Look forward to hear from you.

also, I am studying for the math and science for the Kaplan if any of you that have recently taken it could maybe give me some pointers that would be great I have about a little over a week Til my interview

Hey kjuneee,

I am a transfer though I have a BSc already. I applied at the end of January and interviewed on Tuesday so it was pretty quick.

Hi Jonathan954,

I took the Kaplan recently so I will give you whatever pointers I can. For the math, it is VERY basic. Mostly adding and subtracting decimals and fractions. A few things on percentages and I think I had one rate problem. Plus you have a calculator so you can always double check your solutions. I like solving them myself and then checking with a calculator. I got a 96% on the math.

For the science, I was expecting it to be harder from what I had read. As others have said, really focus on the topics they list. There was nothing that fell outside of that. I used the Kaplan for a quick review and my physio notes from classes. That got me a 90% for the science.

Best of luck!

I have my interview next week!!! Any pointers for the kaplan? Or what website or book did u use to study! I'm so excited !!!!

Hi kjuneee,

For the Kaplan, I did use the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam book to study. I didn't study the math since math is really my strong point. The math on the exam is super easy though. The most confusing thing I encountered was some weird wording. I didn't "study" the Reading or Writing but I did do both of the practice tests provided. I know people have said they didn't find it useful, but I thought it provided a good BRIEF review of physiology considering the time constraints. The physiology section can easily be read in just a few days. I really stress not to waste time studying anything other than the physiology. It is just a waste of time. I also studied old physiology notes from my classes which I will say were helpful but too much material to thoroughly review before the exam. It really is mostly big picture though, so don't get too hung up on every single detail.

Good luck!!

Thank you for the pointers ! Hope to hear if you get in! I'm very nervous for Tuesday. What kind of questions were part of the interview ?

Hey Jonathan954,

I am still waiting to hear from them... I am hoping to hear in the next day or 2 though!

Don't be nervous for the interview. I did the Kaplan test first and as my interviewers said to me, "the hard part of the day is over". They were right! The interview had some scenario questions but they are really just trying to get a sense of who you are and why you would be a good nurse. None of the questions are science-related. It is strictly a personal interview. Just be yourself (make it your best self, but still yourself).

Good luck! Hope you will let us know how it goes!
