Hello!

This is for anyone who has attended Northern Virginia Community College's Nursing Program (especially the Online/Hybrid track) or anyone who has just applied!!!! (And it's also for anyone else who wants to chime in :) )

I sent in my application for Spring 2015 about a week and a half ago....

I applied with a 3.2 GPA for all my courses. My GPA for prerequisites was probably a 3.8. My TEAS were all in the 83-86 range...I thought i would be able to take them again so I was just practicing but it turns out you can only take them again if you do not pass the first time, so I was really disappointed about that. Anyway, I was wondering if these scores seem competitive? I know the requirements are lower, but I have been reading some forums of people accepted in years past and all of their scores are so much higher!!!!

Has anyone had their application confirmed yet? I haven't heard anything about if my application is complete.

Am I stressing way too much about this? I hope we all get in and can begin school together! Good luck to you all!!! I would love to commiserate with or hear about anyone's experience!

I have never posted anything like this online before...so I don't know if I did it right! I am more of an outdoorsy type :) Sorry if I messed anything up!

Hi!

I applied to the program also. I just received a confirmation email about a week ago. I have heard that the program is very competitive also. My scores are pretty much in line with yours except my pre-req scores are not as high. I hope we both get in to as I am ready to start!

Hey there!

I applied to the Spring 2015 program too! I recently discovered that I would be relocating to Northern Virginia, so I basically scrambled around to get everything together last minute. I took the TEAS 10/27 (I wish I would have had time to study) and my application arrived on campus 10/31--so I was cutting it close!

My TEAS scores were:

Reading-88.1

Math-83.3

Grammar-80.0

Pre-reqs: I'm not sure which they are looking at, but... A&P1-A, A&P2-C, Micro-B, which puts me at a 3.0.

Also, I'm a Virginia State Resident, but not a local resident. I'm hoping we get the same twist of fate as last year and everyone that applies gets in! I really want to go ahead and start too!!

Thanks for responding guys! We need to stick together! I am biting my nails TERRIFIED.

I got a confirmation email on OCT 10 saying my transcript was processed but that my high school chemistry grade was too low! So I asked them what I could do and they directed me to NursingABC to take chemistry online....I was going crazy trying to do a years worth of chemistry in a week or two! I had to resubmit my application. Hopefully, it only helped me because I ended up with an A! :) Have you heard any confirmation back yet cnb003? have you received any other messages since being confirmed Lliitte? Sorry for being such a bad OP and not responding sooner!!!!!

Oh no, that's awful about Chemistry, but at least you finished and can breathe a sigh of relief now! I received an initial email stating that my application had been received and processed, and that I would hear directly from the nursing department regarding my admission status. Did yours say that? I read someone else's post that said their email read that their application had been received and they were being considered. I'm probably being paranoid because I would assume that the emails are generic.

I have not heard anything yet...waiting anxiously ... I also received only one email that said my application was received and being processed.

i never received an email when my application arrived, just that one that said it had been recieved and processed and then rejected because of my Chem grade. So if they didn't mention a problem in the email you got... You are probably in the all clear and now it's just a numbers game while they see how many people they can accept and then pick from the best of those. Yay!!!! I'm so happy they didn't point out any problems for either of you!!! I'm worried because the post office said my application was delivered on the 29 but I havnt heard anything yet... You would think I would have heard something back by now because they got my application before yours was delivered...right? SO freaked out. Hopefully we will all get to meet at orientation!!! Let me know how you are both feeling and if you hear anything! Keep me posted!

I would definitely contact them for confirmation. I received an email on 11/4, confirming that my application had been received and was being processed.
