I am not sure where to begin in regards to finding the RIGHT company for me so I can start travel nursing.

I have gone on various websites :typing and filled out applications and now I am being bombarded by phone calls everyday by every company I submited an inquiry to.

How do i know which one to go with?? I have never done this before?? I have heard both positive and negative things about travel nursing....:argue:

Unsure what to do or how to get started????:saint:

Thanks :o)

Hello CB,

I'm not the one to offer you the best advice but I will tell you what I would do, since I'm in the same position as you.

1. Get the name of a contact from each company calling you to sort out the mess.

2. Work onlyl with this person in regards to negotiating.

3. Get DETAILS, tell them where you want to go, ask how much they will pay, what benefits, how much for housing stipend, is a car stipend included, get all the details and write everything down.

4. USE this information to make your offers even sweeter. When talking to agency B tell them that agency A has offered x$ and benefits etc. Keep comparing all offers until you find what you want. Don't accept at this point but then do your research such as posting here what others feel about a certain agency. Ask around and see what others have to say.

Since I'm new at this I cannot offer any more info than that. Hope some of this helps.

:wink2:I researched several different companies. You differently want to work with 2-3 companies. That way you have a better chance to get the assignment that you want in the part of the country that you want.

Make a list of what is important to you. Salary, insurance, etc. Be flexible, understand that primary postions go fast.

I'm on my first assignment in SC. If you want to talk off board shot me a im

Good luck

Neuron6 where are you in SC? I'm currentlyin Newberry, SC and looking at next assignment in Charleston or Columbia. You at either of these places?

I'm in Orangeburg. It's about 40 miles from Columbia and about 70 from Charleston. It's a small hospital, with alot of travelers. I'm not sure how far it's from where you are.

Neurorn6,

You are about an 1 hr from me. I am 30 miles northwest of Columbia. Have you heard anything about MUSC in Charleston or Palmetto Richland in Columbia?
