Just a few questions...
Some places have ms/tele together and others have them seperate. You might be able to go for step down/tele/ms. Don't get discouraged. I found lots of things out there when I was looking today...more than I thought. I looked at about 25-30 companies today. Some will let you look at available jobs and others won't. I have picked 6 more companies to apply to. It will probably take me forever to get it done, but I think it will help in the long run.

My suggestion would be to place your application with multiple companies. That will give you a better chance of getting where you want to go. Currently I am with 3 but have spent the afternoon researching others to increase my companies. Things are slim right now but if you are not too picky you should be able to find something. The more departments that you are able to work in will also help. The more you limit things the harder it will be to find something. Best of luck!

what the HECK is PBDS?
I refuse to go to any facility that requires this test. I have heard a lot of people failing at Pitt in Greenville,NC. They make it very hard to pass. I think they use it to "weed" out the people they decide they do not want. There should NOT be any required testing. If you have good references and experience that should be enough. Being from NC I know that Pitt and Craven require the test. I'm not sure about Duke, Wake Med, Baptist, or UNC. UNITE TOGETHER AND STOP THIS TESTING!!!!!!!!!

Looking to travel to NC - need help with finding an agency!!!
Try IPI (innovative placements), Trinity, Talemed, or Cirrus. I'm in NC and have not seen much out there. I think Trinity has something in that area. I'm with Trinity and have been very pleased...so far. Best of luck!

Recession and travel nursing
I'm riding it out right now. I have been looking for my next assignment for the last 3 weeks. I still have not found anything. I did limit the search area in the beginning, but now have extended it. I am mainly looking in the southeast. My current contract ends this Wednesday. I have been picking up extra shifts at local hospital so I have some extra $$$ to help cover if I have to go beyond assignment.

Scary Moment in Orangeburg SC
Wow, be safe. Never had a issue...yet. Glad company is able to move you.

how soon to start looking for an assignment?
3-4 weeks out is a good time frame. This gives you and the company time to get all required paper work completed. I have found several agencies that have jobs starting after Jan 1. You might want to look at different companies. I work with 3 companies, it gives me a better chance of finding a job and go where I want. Best of luck.
