I was wondering if someone could answer my nursing quesitons. I'm currently going to school online to get my associates in health administration. It makes no sense to me why I'm going to school for my associates in health administration, when I need my associates in nursing to take that nclex exam to be an RN. I tried transfering to a school online for associates in nursing, but my state doesn't go along with it! Isn't that rediculous! So yeah, I guess my question is should I finish my associates in health degree, and then transfer to a nursing program? I'm just so confused! I would love someone to help me!
I did not do that, but my friend had a Baby in the middle of her pre-requisites, and then chose to have another child at the end of her Senior year in the program. She did work full time, and she graduated with honors and was in Sigma Theta Tau. To be honest, I think it was at times difficult for her. But she did not really ever complain about it. She was one of 2 classmates with small children.
It really is possible.
On Line for undergraduate nursing is pretty difficult. There are some classes that are pre-requisites that could be done on line (Human Growth and Development, some math, some of the science classes).
Call some of the local programs in your area, make an appointment and talk to the advisors. They can be really helpful to design a plan for you to get the degree and to pass the NCLEX, and keep some of your sanity. They will know about financial aide in your area- sometimes you can get very good "loans" from the state or the US goverment with an agreement to work in a certain area after graduation. (I financed my education that way, in addition to continuing to work full time....)
Good Luck.

I didn't go to undergrad with children, but I am currently a full time graduate student, work full time, and am a mother to 6 month old twins. It's hard, but it can be done with flexible scheduling and dependable family.
