 should I just drop/withdraw from it and do biology and chemistry

or stick with it and maybe get a failing grade and have to do it over.

The theory lecture class of A&P1 is ok I can read and study2.gif and make sense of it but im just not grasping the labs...

what yu think? I really dont mind starting from 'scratch'...

If you did chemistry and biology would it be this semester? If so wouldn't you already be behind in those classes? Does your school offer tutoring? My school offers free tutoring in our science and math classes. I am taking A&P 1 this semester too and it is very hard, but I'm trying to stick it out. I would use all of my available resources before dropping out. Good Luck & hang in there!

It would be hard to answer without knowing you personally and seeing first-hand what the problems are. Have you talked to the lab TA/instructor? Are you really behind already?

There is usually a period where you can drop without the class showing on your transcript. Then there is the period where you can drop with a withdrawal passing or withdrawal failing. If you have already passed the point where the drop is now going to show, it might be worth hanging on and attempting to bring your grade back up. Just keep track of the calendar and your grades, and check to see how a withdrawal will affect your application.

I did this for an Organic Chem lecture class where I was doing great in lab and terrible in lecture. Fortunately the Lab was separate and I could finish it, and did with an A. I was doing poorly in lecture and when I got to the point where my average was dropping fairly close to a D and I knew I did not have enough time to bring it back up, I took the WP.

I also had trouble w/A&P labs. Change your study habits if your current habits are not working for you. Pull out all stops and don't give up! My instructor told me that "A&P is not the problem....your study habits are the problem." Put bad test scores behind you and start fresh.....give yourself some credit and don't give up!

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Ive been looking at my study habits also. Ive just been reading thru the book and quzzing myself. The teacher doesnt go thru the book. the first class we had (and the only) cause this weekend was holidays he made us take out the microscopes and looked at various things and told us to read the chapter on microscopes. Then he told us to learn the metric system. That was it! nothing else.. no lecture nothing.

Britt, nope it wouldnt be for this semester, its already closed. It would be for Jan 2010.

I will see how this coming weekend class goes...:smackingf

Well, could you possible talk to your department head and swap teachers? One of my friends did that. Her instructor was horrible. He never taught out of the book, he bounced around like crazy, she stuck it out for a few weeks and flunked two tests and then talked to our science dept head and he let her switch to his class bc some people had dropped out by then. I'm just trying to think of a way to keep you in...so you dont get a semester behind. Let us know how this weekend goes :)
