Not Accepted to Nursing School! :(... Alternative!

Published

Well, I've already applied to nursing school at the Palm Beach State College, but was denied acceptance to the school. So now I have a lot of free time on my hands. I was declined due to insufficient amount of points. I had 22 they required that I have 26.13 to even be considered for a spot. Seeing that I have already taken all of my Pre-Reqs for the RN Program, I was thinking of taking some of the General Education Courses classes that are required for the BSN Program seeing that I do plan on going on to get my BSN. I'm thinking if this is possible? Can I take some classes for the BSN program even though I have not been accepted into the RN program? I am doing this to raise my GPA for the RN Program (I already completed my Procalc, and plan on taking the Hesi again) and to meet the requirements for the BSN program as well. Reminder: these classes are part of the General Education Courses, not the Core classes.

The BSN program at PBSC is RN-BSN. So basically you have to have your RN license before applying for that program.

I was going to apply to the part-time program at PBSC last year, but my points were going to be too low. Since I had a whole year on my hands, I decided to get all my gen-ed classes out of the way. I am now in my final semester and will be applying to the nursing program in a couple weeks.

I totally suggest getting your general education classes out of the way if you have the time! Good luck!!
