Hello fellow RN's....I am a new grad and I have an interview with Northside L&D for their internship in a few days.....If you could please let me know of any interview tips or example interview questions that would be great!! I have seen past posts on general interview questions but im looking for more advice specific to Northside and their L&D. All and any advice is welcome....Thanks :)

have you gone for the interview yet?
I just got a position with piedmont L&D...im not new grad (1 year critical care experience) and i thought she would ask me alot of scenario questions but she mainly asked about my current job details and how i felt about team work.. i think you could probably just prepare yourself for a basic interview just remain confident and explain on different levels how you can be an asset to the hospital and how much you really want to work for them.

Thank You for your response.....no I havent gone yet. I will post the results of my interview once I have.
Had my interview today...... It went well. The interviewer asked basic questions. Like: Tell Me about yourself, Why L&D?, What are some of my weaknesses and how have I overcame Them?, Tell about a time when I had a difficult patient or was in a situation where there was conflict, How did I handle it?, Explain why they should hire me? And that was about it.

@FavoRed2: may I ask how you found out about the position/internship in L&D? What's the difference when you are in an internship? I am so eager to work in L&D when i graduate and trying to find the best possible routes to find a job in this department when the time comes? Any advice?

@Favored do you have a bachelors degree or associates if you don't mind me asking. Congrats on your new job. How is it going so far?
I went to Northside career board and typed in internship and it shows all the internships and the requirements. With an internship you get paid as an RN but you are basically training for a certain amount of time.. in this case it is 14 weeks and then after the 14 weeks you are on your on. Most hospitals dont hire new grads for regular RN positions. You have to go through and internship/ New Grad program to get into their hospital.Advice: try to get your preceptor for your last semester in an OB area. If you can get a externship postion do that because it will be eaiser to get the internship position.Be persistent and stand out while trying to get an L&D job because EVERYBODY wants L&D positions and the reality of it is that there are not too many positions out there. Start your search early and dont just send in your application. Call them, email them, and just be persistent. Make them remember your name.....I know it may seem like you are stalking them but you have to show that you are passionate about the field. For some ppl getting an OB job was easy but for others (in Atlanta especially) it can be difficult.
I have a bachelors degree....and I havent started yet. I still have to do alot of preliminaries such as paperwork and tests.

I didn't know L&D was so popular. I'm willing to go a direction that is more exclusionary. An area that is rare or not overly saturated. I think it allows you to pick and choose.
