Hi Alyssa,
How is it going with the admission process at this school, I contacted several people whom have graduated from the program and nobody seems to have a good review. How do you feel about the process thus far?
Hi. The admission process was great. The advisor walked me through the process. There's a lot to do other than transcripts but it wasn't hard. I just toured the campus and love it!
What exactly are you looking for in regards to the admission process? Maybe I can help

Oh yes, I did see they moved the campus to the south End area, building looks great. did you figure out financing?, the program is quite expensive. I also got into Cabarrus College accelerated BSN program but I don't want to do a CNA course just to start school.
How many days will you be on campus per week? did they explain that?
I have orientation 6/26 I will find out more. Campus 1-2 per week and clinicals start first semester. They give a scholarship which helps a lot.

Hi all! I am a little late to this forum but posting in case this will be helpful to anyone else. I am a 3rd-semester student at NEU ABSN in Charlotte. I would not make the decision to attend this school again. I cannot stress to anyone reading this how disorganized the program is, what a waste of money it is, and additionally, how little they actually care about your success.
The entire format of the program has changed this semester, so you will no longer be getting any tutoring - except from a third party "Orbis" which is unfocused and incredibly general. Peer tutors are no longer employed by the university and the professors were told not to hold weekly meetings, and if they did decide to hold meetings they are not allowed to record nor are they allowed to teach, only answer questions from the students. In short, you are going to be paying $60,000 to watch lectures that the professors in Boston recorded. They don't even take the time to make it relevant for the NC healthcare system or applicable laws here. It is lazy and low quality.
I am a straight-A student, this is only because I have worked incredibly hard, but the school has not helped my success one bit.
Lastly, a note that I believe is important for those considering giving this program their money and 16 months of their life. If you fail a class (below 73% I believe), they will only allow you to retake that class and whatever easy class is ahead of you for next semester. You then get kicked back to the cohort behind, which is understandable. The kicker is, that the two classes you take (really can only total up to 7 to 8 hours that semester) are charged as if you are taking a whole semester. They strip you of your scholarship which then puts you at 20k a semester, and the semester you're taking only two classes, you pay the entire 20k. I have had two friends fall into this predicament and feel stuck in the program at this point. It is almost a con for money. I say this to demonstrate how dysfunctional and ridiculous the program is at its very core.
All of this to say, please beware. Do not go here if you can avoid it, I wish I had avoided it and found ANY other program.
Side note: your admissions counselor will encourage you to look for scholarships anywhere you can, ABSN programs are very hard to get scholarships for since it is not traditional. They will tell you "so many others have done it and brought their tuition down." I can confidently tell you, that not one person I have talked to has gotten any type of scholarship outside of the Atrium CNA assistance fund and the Nursecorps scholarship.
Wow, first off thank you for being so candid more people need to be this trans parents about some of these so called nursing programs. The phone called from North Eastern was almost predatory. The way they were pushing me to enroll had me wondering about the school. Upon further investigation, (I looked up several graduates of the Charlotte ABSN on instagram and reached out to them. Not one of them spoke good of the program, they basically all felt like it was a waste of money and they had to learn skills from YouTube. All said the school was very disorganized and always looking for a way to charge a student more money. That was enough for me to cross North Eastern off my list. Cabbarus opened up an ABSN program that's much cheaper and seems way more organized ! I'm sorry you're having such a bad experience in nursing school. Glad you will be graduating soon and done with them. Thanks for sharing and warning potential students.

How is your time at Northeastern going? Has it been a positive experience, or negative like others have commented on? thanks
