Northeast Louisiana Hospitals?

I still have a few years before I'll be an RN, but am wondering about the job potential in this area. I live in Monroe, and St. Francis is the main hospital here. There's also Conway and Glenwood. I don't know anything about working in these hospitals, or others within a 40 minute drive from here. Anyone out there with experience and tips? Who is the best to work for? Good pay, good new grad training, etc? Thanks!

Hi, BBQvegan,

St. Francis, as far as I know, is a pretty good hospital. If I'm not mistaken, they have just taken over North Monroe Hospital, too.

I don't have info on pay for any of the hospitals. Sorry. Might be others who can help you there.

Hey BBQvegan -- My husband and I are both RNs and have worked in Monroe/West Monroe for years. I have always thought that Glenwood in West Monroe was the best hospital of choice. I worked there for 8 years and never had any trouble. Even getting larger, the hospital is the most "family" type of job. My husband and I have both worked at St. Francis Med. Center downtown and it is very nice also. North Monroe (St. Francis North now), please DO NOT make that mistake!!! Let me know if you have any questions or anything. I'll be glad to help. Money-wise, I think that Glenwood and Conway pay the most.

Anne
