North Shore LIJ - October 2014 ED Fellowship

Published

I applied for this when I saw it pop up. I noticed that its no longer on the website. Anyone got an invite for an interview yet? Just wondering when they will decide to give out invitation emails for interview, or rejection for that matter.

I was just curious seeing as we are mid-way through september and all.

Also I have read here that in the past that people have had to do Head to toe assessments. I wonder how thorough do you have to be. I had to do a really comprehensive one for my health assessment lab in order to pass but I wonder if you do a quick version of it at the interview, would that be acceptable?

Anyone that has been through the interview process that can shed some light and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well I have yet to hear anything back and its nearing the end of september so I dunno maybe they already picked people for interviews, who knows

Yea, I am close over there too...but yea from pervious trend a couple of years back it looks as if they call back quickly, but now like you said I dunno..so I just keep applying you never know.

Hello SuperwomenRN,

I replied your message some time ago but just realized it never went through cause my account is unable to send private messages. :(. I also applied to all these LIJ fellowship postings and i've not heard anything yet. I just keep applying to as many openings as I can each day.

DestinedRN, what sort of jobs are you applying to? I look everyday but I've only found about 10-15 jobs that accept new grads (at hospitals at least).

I am pretty much applying to every RN posting available because none are listed as new grad jobs, but that dosent mean they won't hire us. I am hoping for the best and being as aggressive as I can.

Same here I am applying to everything I can, because I know that they hire new grad. Are you a new grad DestinedRN?

Which hospital accept new grad?

I only know mount Sinai, nyp (residency program), nyu, LIJ and HHC that hire a lot of new grads. I don't know many others in the city that do :/

Yes I am a new grad.

Hi guys, I wish i had found this sooner. Just to add in some info.

I applied to the Critical Care fellowship for both Manhasset and LIJ. got an interview for LIJ and the next day got an email saying they didn't select me. I believe most like its because I did not do my capstone or have any experience on a critical care unit. I hope this helps. This program is due to start OCT 7 as they told me. They were interviewing a bunch of people the day I had my interview. So I'm think they've already selected the people they want to interview.

However the Manhasset application is still online. So probably they are still looking for more candidates.

Hopefully this helps a little bit.

for those lucky ones who might get an interview with them, YES they did ask me a head to toe assessment. I was also asked how I would administer meds to a patient. I was very thorough. and they seemed to like my answers. I believe they are looking for someone who has at least had some CC experience.

Oh I see, Man a rejection letter at least would be nice lol. Well if everything is starting Oct 7th then yes I assume that they have already chose everyone they wanted to interview.

When did you do your interview son_she?
