Hi,
I applied for the Fall 2011 LPN program and was looking to see if anyone else on the board has also also applied. Also, for those who have gone through the program or are currently in it, how soon did you hear whether or not you were accepted? I'd love to hear thoughts about the program! Thanks!
Em,
I can't message you back because I haven't posted on the forums enough.
As for taking 18 credits at a time, if you're not working and don't have too many responsibilities I think you will be fine! I had some major family issues/responsibilities going on when I was in the program and it didn't help me at all.
The only class I really wish I had taken prior to starting was nutrition. We only had 2 tests in that class and if you don't do well on one test you can have some issues passing it since the 2 tests make your grade.
Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!!
Thanks for the suggestion sawyer. Congrats to you on almost being done. Hows the program at gltech? I heard its good. It may b hard for me to find child care five nites a week till ten and on weekends. Atleast I know at mcc its two nites till 730/830 then clinical on sat 7to2. I dont know, im bummed that im waitlisted again. I thought I would of got in this time. Are u planning on going for your RN as well? Ttyl...
Oh I didnt realize you have kids! The program is awesome but hard.....everyone in my class who has a family and/or works full time just has it 10 times harder. The evening program is 4 nites a week plus every other sat & sun 8am-2pm. You literally have no life. I have 9 weeks to go and the countdown is on! I am planning on furthering my education but I dont want to wait 3 years to get accepted to a program.....even the lpn-rn has waitlists I think. But I have no pre reqs done so i might have to wait that long. I am just taking it one day at a time for now - finish 3rd term, graduate, pass NCLEX, get a job and THEN figure out the rest.Any other programs for you - what about northern essex? Good luck in whatever you decide!!!
Sawyer, it sounds like things are looking great in your future! i wish u luck with the last few weeks and on your finals. I just recently finished a cna class at northshore cc. It was a good program. I know the wait at mcc is long, atleast two years which is ridiculous. I looked at northern essex and the last i heard their night program was suspended.... i guess i will wait for mcc, i can focus now on my new pca job that i start in may. Well thanks for writing back!
