What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing accreditation for nursing programs, specifically in California. Some members are sharing information about RN-to-BSN programs that accept graduates from non-accredited ASN programs. There is also discussion about the process of obtaining RN licenses in California and transferring from out-of-state programs. Additionally, members are forming support groups and seeking information about class schedules and program outcomes, such as passing the NCLEX exam.

I'm looking for opinions of anyone who has attended, currently attends, or has been accepted to the online LPN to RN program at North Palm College of Nursing.

What are the online lectures like? Are there live or recorded video lectures? It's my understanding clinical are local to the college. How often do you attend clinicals? Can you please share any pros and cons about the program?

@RNstudent2025 Wow, you have said so much information in your post. Seems like you don't like North Palm but are you an actual student or just talking hearsay? Glad to hear that you're attending Riggs College and all the wonderful things you have reported about them, you should be the student services representative for them, I'm sure they would love to have you on their team. What's the real reason you sound so upset with North Palm, were you not able to pay your deposit or tuition. They do offer a nurse loan and every student gets approval.

Hello All,

I spoke with an advisor back in August of 24. The school was perfect for my busy schedule and I was given 9 months to complete but from what I understood, you can finish the program before 9 months. You could work at your own pace but still have deadlines. I didn't go through with the program at the time because I was only working part time and the school wanted a dp of $5400 and the remainder of balance to be paid after I finished school. Hotel or Airb&b were included in tuition. I think clinicals was to be completed the last 3 months of program or as you go in the program. I'm an LPN and I transferred all college credits and didn't need anymore prerequisites, so I was going straight into my nursing courses. I'm reapplying for the June class and hope that I can secure a seat. Also, If you're an LPN, the TEAS test is waived. I just want to start and get it done. Best wishes to you all.

Hi @Shelley F nice to meet you . My friend is a current student there and she started back in January. Been trying to connect with many that started back in 2023 or 2024. But it's been hard connecting with anyone that started back then . I've been accepted and will be starting in June . Would like to stay in contact.

Hey

Is North Palm College accredited? Can students from California enroll in its programs and be eligible to sit for the NCLEX in California after completing their studies?

@Arohi

Northpalm is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, but it's not accredited by any recognized accrediting agency. I'm from California as well, and I originally planned to attend Sunrise School of Nursing, but their ASN program takes 24 months to complete. Then I came across Northpalm and scheduled an appointment with them. They asked me to submit my prerequisites, high school diploma, and other credentials. Since I'm already an LVN, they waived the TEAS test, and because I had completed most of my prerequisites, they gave me a 9-month timeline to finish the ASN program. It sounded ideal—shorter duration, and the tuition even included hotel accommodations and transportation, which made it even more appealing.

However, it all started to feel too good to be true, so I decided to do some research. I visited their Facebook page and began messaging a few people. I reached out to one student on Yelp, one on Facebook, and another on TikTok. They responded at first but then ended up blocking me, which was really strange. Here's what CCN had to say about the school...

So I have decided to go to Nightingale, I have also thought about ICHS.

thank you for the information. I really appreciate your help

@Glacey

How is Nightingale College? Is it a hybrid program? Do they use HESI or ATI? Are the tests online and proctored? Does each semester include the HESI Exit exam? What is the tuition cost? Do they offer an LPN-to-RN bridge program, or is it only a BSN program?

@Arohi

Its a fully accredited nursing school that offers both ADN and BSN programs, including an LPN-to-RN bridge option. Yes, it's a hybrid program—completed online, while labs and clinicals are held on-site .

They  use HESI for exams. Most of the tests are online and proctored using platforms like Proctoru.

As for tuition, it varies depending on the program and location, but generally, the LPN-to-RN (ADN) program costs around $40,000–$50,000. They have FAFSA, and other different loan options.

if u are already an LVN, you can test out on MDC, health assessment and Med surg. If u pass, they will remove 2 major course from your program plan and will only have to attend 3 clinicals instead of 5. Those without pre preqs you have a total of 8 semesters ( 4 mos each). If u have pre reqs maybe 6-7 semesters

I'm not sure about the accreditation but I was told that before accrediting, the school must graduate their first class. Not sure if this is true but it's a great question to ask them. Also, I'm not sure about the state of California. California has its own set of rules away from other states seemingly.
