  1. @MDCZ Yes, I agree. This individual seems to be greatly exaggerating their experience with the school and attempting to dissuade others from enrolling. It appears that after encountering a few unfavorable situations, they've become rather disgruntled and are now projecting their personal frustrations onto the entire program.
  2. Honestly, I gotta give props to whoever's running that school because at least they're not just passing anybody through like that whole Nightingale situation. They're actually making sure students know what they're doing and not just getting by. I wouldn't want any nurse working on my kids or my family that can't even pass a test or doesn't know what they're doing that's scary. And if you're gonna complain about changes, maybe think about why you chose a non-accredited school in the first place? Like, be for real nursing school isn't supposed to be easy!”
  3. Okay wait, I'm just tryna understand something the exams you're talking about are like eight exams and then a final that's worth 60%, right? And a HESI on top of that? I mean, I get it's stressful, but from what I know, schools are allowed to have exit exams or change grading stuff as long as it's within their policy and what the Board of Nursing allows. So I don't really get why everyone's acting like it's illegal or something. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy, it's literally preparing us for the NCLEX. I'm just saying, go study more. like go and reach out to the school and ask them for more training or resources. I mean, you literally just said someone from the school didn't pass their boards so obviously they're gonna make some changes. Schools have to tighten things up so students actually pass next time. As long as it's within policy and what the Board of Nursing allows, they can do that. I get it's tough, but that's kinda the whole point of nursing school... it's not supposed to be easy.
  4. @Boots on I keep seeing the same thing commented about the same thing on every nursing post and I'm kinda confused. What do you mean by "barriers being set up"? It's nursing school it's supposed to be challenging. Not trying to come at you, but it sounds like you might be struggling a bit? Also, about the tests and percentage changes... schools adjust grading and weighting all the time. That's pretty normal.
  5. @twinluvly You sound real dumb! And I wish I did work for the school I'd trash your application. I hope you don't get in.
  6. Well your mom didn't teach you well enough LOL. The school is definitely real and so is the location. It's upstairs above State Farm insurance. Yeah it's probably best to get your refund.
  7. @FNPDC Yes so correct it's self paced, they will give you a schedule for the classes its so you have a guide for dates for the 2 classes you take at a time. The homework has no due dates so just stay consistent and focus if you want to move forward and quickly. So in a sense no there is no due dates. You could pretty much take both of your classes simultaneously together but just keep in mind in order to move to the next class. You have to complete all homework all papers all labs and passing midterm final and then yes they will grant you access on the next classes.
  8. OK that's excellent! Yes they're getting very busy now and I'm sure this new class in September will be a huge cohort.
  9. Hello, yeah the 9 months I don't think that's possible. 12 months is more realistic. And yes, you can work ahead because of self-paced. Did you have all your pre-reqs done?
  10. @RNfairy Yes all exams are proctored and the school covers it and it's provided
  11. @FNPDC I'm a current student here at North Palm and so far for me It's been great. It's a self-paced program that I am able to work full-time and attend class. You will have reading lectures quizzes and writing assignments that are APA format and yes, your homework counts for 30% of your grade. The midterm is 30% and the final is 40%. You do take two classes at a time which are 10 weeks long you also have labs to complete which are through shadow health. Overall, it's not bad and every school has their ups and downs yeah sometimes grading does take a little bit however you're still able to move on within your courses. As far as it being easy, you do have to study so that you're passing your test but the good thing is there's no deadline you work at your own pace at the end of the program you will go out to Florida and complete your clinical hours, which are 300 hours of in person. Before you go to Clinical, you will go to the school and have two days of skills to be checked off and that the very end of the program you do take a NCLEX class and must pass the HESI exit exam. All exams are proctored. And yes, it is a new school and they are in the process of becoming accredited. Eventually, they will have a LPN program and a BSN program.
  12. I would say it's way less than 30 to 40 hours a for sure. I think I do more 10 to 12 hours per week and I work full time 40 hours a week and I have a family and kids and I still have time to socialize and be free. Since it's self paced we don't have deadlines. You just have to pace yourself to keep moving forward. Yeah I heard about ICHS
  13. Yes it's gone now, not sure what happened. Hopefully people can migrate here on your post and talk about North Palm it's been a great experience for me.
