  1. @MDCZ Yes, I agree. This individual seems to be greatly exaggerating their experience with the school and attempting to dissuade others from enrolling. It appears that after encountering a few unfavorable situations, they've become rather disgruntled and are now projecting their personal frustrations onto the entire program.
  2. Honestly, I gotta give props to whoever's running that school because at least they're not just passing anybody through like that whole Nightingale situation. They're actually making sure students know what they're doing and not just getting by. I wouldn't want any nurse working on my kids or my family that can't even pass a test or doesn't know what they're doing that's scary. And if you're gonna complain about changes, maybe think about why you chose a non-accredited school in the first place? Like, be for real nursing school isn't supposed to be easy!”
  3. Okay wait, I'm just tryna understand something the exams you're talking about are like eight exams and then a final that's worth 60%, right? And a HESI on top of that? I mean, I get it's stressful, but from what I know, schools are allowed to have exit exams or change grading stuff as long as it's within their policy and what the Board of Nursing allows. So I don't really get why everyone's acting like it's illegal or something. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy, it's literally preparing us for the NCLEX. I'm just saying, go study more. like go and reach out to the school and ask them for more training or resources. I mean, you literally just said someone from the school didn't pass their boards so obviously they're gonna make some changes. Schools have to tighten things up so students actually pass next time. As long as it's within policy and what the Board of Nursing allows, they can do that. I get it's tough, but that's kinda the whole point of nursing school... it's not supposed to be easy.
  4. @Boots on I keep seeing the same thing commented about the same thing on every nursing post and I'm kinda confused. What do you mean by "barriers being set up"? It's nursing school it's supposed to be challenging. Not trying to come at you, but it sounds like you might be struggling a bit? Also, about the tests and percentage changes... schools adjust grading and weighting all the time. That's pretty normal.
  5. @twinluvly You sound real dumb! And I wish I did work for the school I'd trash your application. I hope you don't get in.
  6. Well your mom didn't teach you well enough LOL. The school is definitely real and so is the location. It's upstairs above State Farm insurance. Yeah it's probably best to get your refund.
  7. @FNPDC Yes so correct it's self paced, they will give you a schedule for the classes its so you have a guide for dates for the 2 classes you take at a time. The homework has no due dates so just stay consistent and focus if you want to move forward and quickly. So in a sense no there is no due dates. You could pretty much take both of your classes simultaneously together but just keep in mind in order to move to the next class. You have to complete all homework all papers all labs and passing midterm final and then yes they will grant you access on the next classes.
  8. OK that's excellent! Yes they're getting very busy now and I'm sure this new class in September will be a huge cohort.
  9. Hello, yeah the 9 months I don't think that's possible. 12 months is more realistic. And yes, you can work ahead because of self-paced. Did you have all your pre-reqs done?
  10. @RNfairy Yes all exams are proctored and the school covers it and it's provided
  11. @FNPDC I'm a current student here at North Palm and so far for me It's been great. It's a self-paced program that I am able to work full-time and attend class. You will have reading lectures quizzes and writing assignments that are APA format and yes, your homework counts for 30% of your grade. The midterm is 30% and the final is 40%. You do take two classes at a time which are 10 weeks long you also have labs to complete which are through shadow health. Overall, it's not bad and every school has their ups and downs yeah sometimes grading does take a little bit however you're still able to move on within your courses. As far as it being easy, you do have to study so that you're passing your test but the good thing is there's no deadline you work at your own pace at the end of the program you will go out to Florida and complete your clinical hours, which are 300 hours of in person. Before you go to Clinical, you will go to the school and have two days of skills to be checked off and that the very end of the program you do take a NCLEX class and must pass the HESI exit exam. All exams are proctored. And yes, it is a new school and they are in the process of becoming accredited. Eventually, they will have a LPN program and a BSN program.
  12. I would say it's way less than 30 to 40 hours a for sure. I think I do more 10 to 12 hours per week and I work full time 40 hours a week and I have a family and kids and I still have time to socialize and be free. Since it's self paced we don't have deadlines. You just have to pace yourself to keep moving forward. Yeah I heard about ICHS
  13. Yes it's gone now, not sure what happened. Hopefully people can migrate here on your post and talk about North Palm it's been a great experience for me.
  14. @FNPDC If you type in the search bar at the top North Palm you will find more information and reviews about the school. Yes I work full time and it's very doable and since it's self paced I can do my homework and test when I choose to. I do a little bit each day and then on my off days which is the weekend. All self paced and very manageable just be organized and pace yourself and you'll be fine. I have all my gen Eds done to finish in 9 months you have to be working on class stuff daily. You're welcome
  15. Yes I'm a current student it's going great! The school is 100% online. We take our test through proctored free once you do your clinicals in the last term they're gonna fly out to Florida and pay for it. The program is self paced, you take 2 classes at a time for 10 weeks. We usually have a discussion questions case studies, quizzes, write papers, lectures and reading plus two midterms and two finals for each classes. @FNPDC It's a whole different forum just type in search north Palm college you will see a lot of reviews
  16. @celene moreno Hey! So I spoke with North Palm College recently, and they let me know that they've been actively working with the California Board of Nursing to make sure everything is lined up for students .The school has already submitted the necessary paperwork to the Board, and it's currently pending review. The goal is to have everything in place so that by the time students are ready to apply for their RN license in California, the process will be as smooth and straightforward as possible. They're basically making sure that all the curriculum and requirements match what California needs, so we're not stuck with any surprises later on. They are actually working on all of the states, but they picked California first due to them having so many students enrolled from California. Hope this helps and you can call the school for more information.
  17. @Maebs99 So that was my concern as well but I just looked it up. Got Your RN from a Non-Accredited ASN Program? You Still Have BSN Options! Hey nurses and students ? — I just wanted to clear something up that a lot of people are confused about: If your ASN program wasn't ACEN- or CCNE-accredited, but it was state-approved and you've passed the NCLEX-RN, you can still get into several RN-to-BSN programs. Here are schools that accept active RNs even if your ADN/ASN program wasn't nationally accredited: ✅ Schools That Accept Non-Accredited ASN Grads (with RN license): Aspen University – affordable, online, accepts valid RN license Western Governors University (WGU) – self-paced, flexible, accepts state-approved programs Chamberlain University – very RN-friendly, case-by-case transcript review Capella University (FlexPath) – flat-rate tuition, self-paced, accepts licensed RNs Grand Canyon University (GCU) – good support, may accept transcripts from non-accredited programs The RN license is what matters most to these schools — not the original program accreditation. So if you're licensed and your school was state-approved, you're good to go. This is what I found look it up and do you own research.
  18. @Samchiu No I live in South Dakota. I want to do travel nursing.
  19. @Ramatu Abukari Yes I have paid my deposit already and had my appointment with my advisor. The school pays for your flight, transportation to and from school, they have an Airbnb we will stay in. The advisor told me today. We do clinical rotation at a hospital Advent health hospital
  20. @blackbeautymob Thank you for the updated information. Were you able to go inside the school and take a tour or did you just take a peek inside the building and windows? Glad to hear that you were able to verify that it's an actual building.
  21. @Zx6QueenLPN Oh I didn't know that there was a HESI exam. Yes I heard that the first clsss graduated Jan 2025 that's excellent that you passed in your classmates
  22. @Zx6QueenLPNYes I know but it's a lot of schools with bad reps but definitely know what you're saying. I want to ask (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME- PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFO ABOUT OTHERS) when is the class taking their NCLEX
  23. @Zx6QueenLPN Congratulations to your sis and I heard that, them C's do get degrees and a license to practice LOL. I'm happy (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME- PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFO ABOUT OTHERS) gave you some new information because I didn't know they were considering a BSN program that's so awesome ?
